October Recap - Our trip to Idyllwild

Hurkey Creek & Idyllwild

In mid-October, we had the chance to visit a small town in nearby mountains called Idyllwild. We have friends who go there every year, but this was our first visit. We were grateful to borrow our friend’s RV (thanks Robert!) & we camped at campground just outside Idywild, called Hurkey Creek. As we pulled up, we were greeted by our friends, Brian, Stacie, their son, Logan, Bob & Katy. The first night there, we shared in a birthday celebration of our friend Josh, who owns an in up in Idyllwild. Their home was so cozy, & full of life. Families, with kids of all ages filled the home…and the backyard. On Monday, we enjoyed a nice, scenic hike, a peaceful time of reading & napping, and then went over to enjoy dinner with Josh & his wife Emily. We left on Tuesday morning, but not before taking a tour of their Idyllwild Inn, & stopping by the local candy store for some treats. It was a lovely family get-away with wonderful friends. We look forward to making Idyllwild a regular destination.

(Oh...& Riley was really excited to see a playground with an enormous slide at our campground!)
