A Glimpse at the Nursery...

The nursery is coming along, and we are very excited. With the holidays approaching, I really wanted to get the basics of the nursery done before Thanksgiving. I know that time will fly between now and the new year, and it is great to not have to plan for the nursery at the same time.

In early October, Aaron and our friend Johnny Bravo painted the top half of the room a sage green (picked before we new the gender, but would work either way). Then Aaron put up some white Wayne's Coating on the bottom half of the walls. We found the crib we wanted & got it. It is simple and a nice cherry wood. We already had an armoire from Aaron's mom from years ago; and my mom got me the glider and ottoman that I have been wanting ever since I found out we were expecting! (Thank you Mom!)

Oh, and I found the bedding! I have been looking for something with colors I like, cute, but not too cutesy or busy, and somewhat gender neutral. I found the pattern online, but no store carried it yet (too new). I just happened to walk into Burlington Coat Factory's Baby Depot one day and saw it in their catalog. They looked it up and found that their Huntington Beach store had it in stock(for less than online & it was 15% off), and asked them to hold it for me. I was very excited how everything came together. These are pictures of some parts of the nursery, including the bedding. It is called Mommy & Me. (Yes, there is a daddy lion on it, but I thought it was cute, and kind of funny.)

It is all coming together, and hopefully we can now sit back and enjoy the holidays with the anticipation of Riley's arrival in February!
