We left on Friday, June 1st & headed to San Simeon where we stayed 2 nights before venturing North to beautiful Big Sur. We were very blessed to have been able to borrow our dear friend's RV. I do not think we could have gone without it. We had a cozy place to sleep & Riley & I had a bit of a home base.
We started our first (& only) full day in San Simeon, with a walk on the beach. It was kind of gloomy & cold out, but it was need to be able to just walk from where we were camping over to the beach.
In the afternoon, we visited the stunning & massive Hearst Castle. Aaron & Brian wore the babies in their Baby Bjorns as we toured the beautiful place. There was great architecture, lots of antiques, & neat stories about every aspect of the castle & its owners. We enjoyed learning the history, & Aaron & I would love to go back again someday to take another tour.
On Sunday, we left for Big Sur...very excited for the beauty that lay ahead. (to be continued...)
