This past weekend was the closing of my show, You Can't Take it With You. This was my first experience working with the Master's Repertory Group & at the Gallery Theater. They do things very differently than the theaters I have worked with before, so this was a whole new experience.

One new experience was that we were actually cast in the show about 5 months before we put it on. The performances seemed so far away then, & now, it is over. The nice thing was that in the beginning we only rehearsed once a week, which was great for me. It allowed me time for myself to do something I love, as well as have time for my family. It was the best of both worlds.

Doing a show does take a lot of time commitment, which can be hard on a marriage or family in general. That was a new challenge for me. The one night a week rehearsals were fine, but it got more difficult as we grew closer to opening & the rehearsals multiplied. I am so thankful that Aaron was as supportive as he was, & it was nice for Riley to get some good quality time with her daddy. Although sometimes I felt guilty for pursuing this, I feel like I did need this as a sort of outlet. It was nice getting back on stage again, & I look forward to more opportunities in the future. With the time commitment it takes, however, I will probably limit myself to one show a year.
So much has happened since the first rehearsal. In fact, I did not think that I would be continuing the show after Riley got sick. I told the

director as much. However, with her amazing & miraculous recovery, I was urged to continue with the show. I am so glad I did. I met wonderful people, made great relationships & laughed...a lot! These people are so much fun. The play was so much fun ! I got to wear these great costumes from the 1930's, style my hair all vintage like & wear red lipstick (which I am not accustomed to doing)! (The dress on the right is actually my mom's. I absolutely love it!) It is so awesome to see 17 people from all over, with different backgrounds & varying in age come together for one common purpose. One shared goal. One creative project. It was amazing to see this group grow & the show blossom with us. I will miss them. I hope to keep in touch, but inevitably after every show, the intentions of keeping in touch gets lost. I hope not this time.
I go to church with a few members of the cast. This was actually a great experience to grow closer to Carleen, an incredibly funny & fun loving woman that was a hoot to spend time with! My mom as well as a few family friends were in the show as well, which made it all the more special. I hope to stay close to this repertory group. Who knows...we may all meet again in the next show? That is part of the fun of a repertory group.

Mindy,
Now first of all who says you can get rid of us. I know there will be more opportunities to work at MR for you. You are too talented and too nice of a person for us to lose you. Besides I lost touch with a lot of my friends from the old days and I don't intend to let it happen again.
Praying for you,
Wayne "De Pinna" Mayberry
