18 Months!

I don't know why, but 18 months seems like a milestone to me. I mean clothes, toys, age groups, & other developmental related baby/toddlers items are specified by 18 months being "age appropriate." I did not really understand really how much of a difference it really made...until now.

I cannot believe how much Riley has grown; not so much physically, but mentally. She understands so much more, is fascinated by the most interesting things, and is quite opinionated when she wants to be. :-)

Here is a list of her latest & greatest:

• She weighs 22lbs 7oz & is 2 feet 7 inches tall.
• She talks..a lot. Some of the words she says are: doggie, duckie, dad, daddy, mom, mommy, Curtis (our friend), ball, bubble, thank you, shoes, socks, hi, hot, hat, this, cheese, ba ba (trying to figure out if that is what she calls her pacifier or her blanket), slide, yes & no.
• She understands give & take conversation & will talk with you, even if you don't understand what she is saying.
• Now has her comfort object - her blanket & she will actually slow down & cuddle with us if we are holding her & it. We absolutely love this!

• Greatly enjoys books. We play this game now wher she points at the pictures & we tell her what they are, or we ask her to find certain things & she points to them. She is learning so much! She even tries to smell the flower in the book.
• Loves to play in the pool! It takes her some time getting used to it (especially if it is cold), but after she does, she thoroughly enjoys it.
• Her favorite thing to do at the park is go down the slide...& she will do that over & over & over & over again.
• Last month it was Roseola & this month she got her 1st ear infection. :-(
• Likes to play in the dirt...a total Tomboy.
• Absolutely hates having a hair in her mouth.
• Will say "cheese" for the camera.
• Went to Turtle Talk at California Adventure for the first time - Loved it!
• Experienced her first earthquake...& just said "wee" the whole time.
• Finds it so much fun to push her own stroller around.
• Can point out several different body parts, including: hands, head, arm, eyes, nose, ear, mouth, belly button, & feet.
• Knows how to turn on & off our Ipod.
