ONE!

One…

singular sensation, every little step she takes
One…

thrilling combination, every move that she makesOne smile and suddenly nobody else will do
You know you'll never be lonely with you-know-who…

(yes…the poor girl has a thespian for a mom, who loves A Chorus Line)

ONE! Kaylyn is ONE!

Has ONE year really gone by already???? I cannot believe it! It went so fast!

This past Sunday, December 12th, Kaylyn Beth Mills turned ONE year old.

As of age ONE…Kaylyn:

  • Weighed 21.6 lbs
  • Measured 29.6 lbs
  • Had her first flu, ear infection, & pink eye all at the same time, &…
  • Finally started cutting teeth – 3 of them at the same time (poor girl – rough month)
  • Likes to lean her head on you to “cuddle”
  • Enjoyed her first birthday cake (or at least the frosting!)
  • Loves Pizza & Pasta!
  • Traveled to Fresno for a 2nd time – in her first year of life she went to: Fresno (2x), Big Bear, Las Vegas (2x), & Zion
  • Is up for anything & is quite a trooper
  • Seems to be drawn towards Minnie Mouse – she has a plush doll she loves & I always find her mouthing Riley’s Minnie Mouse figurines
  • Says: “Mama,” “Dada” & seems to at least understand when we say “Kaylyn,” “Riley,” “Doggies,” “bottle,” “please,”“more please,” “bath,” “cuddles,””Eskimo kisses,” “yeah”
  • Cracks up when we chase her around the house. She thinks it is hysterical!
  • Fell in love with magnets this past month – specifically, the ones on the refrigerator; she would play with them for hours, if she could
  • Has a great sense of rhythm & rocks out when she hears music!
  • Finds silly pet & baby videos extremely funny (discovered this on the long drive home from Fresno)
  • Has learned to communicate what she wants by pointing
  • Is intrigued by the shadows she discovered from the night light in her room

Dear Kaylyn,

Thank you so much for a year of smiles! Thank you for a year of precious memories, funny firsts & joyous squeals! Thank you for loving your big sister, Mommy, Daddy & all of us so much. The doggies thank you for playing with them & being gentle when pulling on the ears, mouths, fur, etc.

We are so excited to watch you grow this next year & to see the amazing personality God has given you come through even more as you learn even more during your second year of life. Please know that Mommy, Daddy & Riley love you so much & are incredibly thankful God has entrusted you to us.

Love always,

Mommy & Daddy
