
Every year our family likes to do a year-end review of our
highlights & lowlights of the previous year. So here are our Highlights & Lowlights for 2010… Thanks for letting me share! :-)
Highlights & Lowlights 2010
January
- Highlight/Lowlight – Started Riley at pre-school. Mommy felt nervous, guilty, etc., but Riley has done absolutely amazing & has learned so much. We are so thankful for a school that cares so much & is doing so well teaching her things I would have never thought of. Thank you Discovery Depot!
- Highlight - My mom retired!! She as worked so hard for so long...we are so thankful she gets to enjoys years & years of health & retirement! (She also watches Kaylyn during the week...which is such a blessing!)
February
- Highlight - Our niece Kate turned 1!
- Highlight - Riley turned 3! We had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed party & she loved it!
March
- HIghlight - Aaron & I celebrated our 8 year anniversary with a date night out to Roy's. The food was good, but the service was fantastic!
April
- Highlight - Aaron became a True Warrior as has completed his first Warrior Run!
- Highlight - Trip to Knott's with Nana, Papa & the kids.
- Highlight - Our first ever Back to School Night for Riley. It was so great to get to talk to her teachers & hear how she was doing.
May
- Highlight – Big Bear! We went to Big Bear with my dad, brother, Tim, & sister in-law, Brenda. Great family time & absolutely beautiful area. We saw a bear playing with water that shot out from a pipe, which was really fun. Thank you Dad!
- Highlight – Going down the Alpine Slide in Big Bear. ..even my dad did it!! Great Job Dad!
June
- Highlight - Daddy, Riley, Kaylyn & I spent a beautiful day together at the Long Beach Aquarium.
- Highlight - The beach!
July
- Highlight - Vegas Baby! – We traveled to Vegas for a real estate conference for Aaron. Aaron enjoyed the conference & obtained a new vision/passion for succeeding in his business.
- Highlight – Our friends, the Gibson family joined us in Las Vegas, so I would have company & friends to do things with, as well as to help me with the 2 girls. Love you Gibsons!
August
- Lowlight - Our dear friend Tony passing away. He lived a long & full life & we are very blessed to have been a part of it. He did pass peacefully though; for that we are thankful.
September
- Highlight - I performed at Long Beach Playhouse in a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater Fundraiser called Audition for Murder. I met & got to work with some great people. It felt good to get back on stage again.
- Highlight - our friends Mavi & Parrish had a beautiful baby boy - RJ.
- Highlight - We moved!!! We moved into a bigger home super close to our works & Riley's school.
- Lowlight - We moved...packing & moving stuff acquired over the last 8+ years is not very fun...
- Highlight - Our home group, friend Dustin & our family helped us significantly with the moving process! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
October
- Highlight - Our trip to Zion – Riley & I zip-lined, Aaron took an awesome (& muddy) ATV tour with the guys, & our family all hiked in the beautiful red rock mountains, we stayed in a rustic lodge with 2 other amazing families!
- Lowlight – The day after day of rain while in Zion, which caused us to not be able to hike the narrows (due to flash flood warnings).
- Highlight – The cool & eerie thunder & lightening storms we had in Zion.
- Highlight – Seeing a shooting start while looking at the stars with my hubby in Zion on our last night there.
- Highlight – Treats in the Streets/Halloween with the kiddos. Every year, it is so fun to dress them up. This year was especially fun because Riley was super excited & is understanding so much more about the holidays.
November
- Highlight - our friends, Monique & Jesse welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world - Presley.
- Highlight – A night away with my hubby at a couples retreat. So nice to focus on our marriage. Love you Honey!
- Highlight - Aaron turned the big 3-0! Dinner at Roys & night out at Twisted Vine…both real nice. :-)
- Highlight - Our brother & sister-in-law (& the kids) surprising the family by joining us for Thanksgiving
- Lowlight – Aaron getting Strep, Kaylyn getting pink eye, an ear infection & teething all at the same time.:-(
- Lowlight – Not ever being able to do family pictures because everyone kept getting sick at various times.
- Highlight – Riley learning memory verses in Sunday school. So sweet… Thank you Jacquie!
- Highlight/Lowlight - Got to say good-bye to Oak Glen CCC, even if we were too sick to be there for very long
December
- Major Highlight - Brother-in-law Jason graduated college…with honors!!
- Highlight - Kaylyn turned 1! We had a Minnie Mouse 1 year themed party. She still loves the big Minnie Mouse balloon. Thanks Nana & Papa!
- Highlight - Christian turned 4!
- Highlight - Richard turned the big 6-0!
- Highlight - Christmas!
Other highlights that I am not sure when they exactly happened are:
- 3 new couples & their kids joined our weekly home group. We are now 14-13 (sometimes 14-14), adults – kids.
- Our dear friends, Nate & Sara welcomed Molly Grace into this world.
- More dear friends, Nick & Charity's 3rd daughter, Emily, was born! (See Aaron, some families are just meant to have girls!) :-)

Rustic Lodge? That may be a bit of a stretch. 5 bed, 5 bath 5,000sqft fully furnished, upgraded, and professionally decorated rustic lodge. :-). I love you and your twisted vision of rustic.
It was a wonderful year. Now for some real fun.
