Riley has had an amazing last month. Now she is 19 months old! Here is her latest & greatest update:
- She went to her 2nd Angels game & it was her second time in a VIP suite!
- The Tomboy in her is very noticeable in her love of dirt.
- She still gets excited about slides. She will say “slide” over & over & over…. She can now climb up easily & ride down one totally on her own (both on small toy ones & big playground ones). She almost gave mommy a heart attack when I first saw her appear at the top of the big slide at church on her own.
- She ridden the Toy Story ride, Midway Mania at Disneyland CA Adventure – 3 times now!
- She likes to sit at the table next to us without the highchair. (I think she feels more grown up that way.)
- She is a good girl & helps put toys away when asked…usually. :-)
- She knows that the dogs get fed twice a day. In fact, she even reminds us & feeds them herself. I guess this is her first official chore! – Okay, wait do I sound like I am making my toddler do work?! I am not, she just loves to feed them herself.
- She is going green…well, at least she likes to play with and stack the empty cans we have set aside for recycling.

- Her friend Logan has taught her to dip her food, like: chips into dip, or fries into ketchup, or hands into applesauce (okay well she did that one on her own). She loves it.
- She babbles all the time now. It sounds like she is trying to speak in sentences, with only 1-2 words really making sense to us. Some of her new words include: “nana” (more for banana & less for Grandma/Nana), “cookie,” :night night," "book," “please,” and “cheese.”
- She says “cheese” & smiles for the camera.
- She also points to her diaper & says “poo poo” & “pee pee.”
- Buckey” or “backey” is also constantly repeated around the house. Is it her Blankie? Or The Backyardigans? Not sure yet.
- She says “Baa” whenever she sees a sheep or goat (like at a petting zoo).
- Did I ever mention that she tries to smell the flowers in books???
- She is learning to say “I Love you” in English & in Sign Language. Totally adorable.
